Reykdal to Adopt Arts Standards

 

OLYMPIA—MARCH 15, 2017—State Superintendent Chris Reykdal will announce formal adoption of Washington state’s arts standards at Elk Plain School of Choice in Spanaway, Wednesday, March 22, at 10 a.m.

 

Reykdal will be joined by Deb Merle, Gov. Jay Inslee’s Senior Policy Advisor for education; Michael J. Sandner, Director of Arts Education & Curriculum Integration, Bethel School District; Chad Honig, Elk Plain School of Choice principal; and invited guests.

Elk Plain School of Choice emphasizes arts and sciences. Guests will have an opportunity to tour the building, then see a brief performance by Elk Plain students. The formal signing of the arts standards follows the performance.
