Enhancing Evidence-Based Literacy Practices for Students Who are Behind in Literacy: Can We Catch Them Up?

This professional development will cover literacy domains (e.g., phonological skills, phonics/spelling, fluency, morphology, comprehension, vocabulary, read alouds, and writing) that require enhancements for students in Tiers 2 and 3. Along with information providing a rationale for teaching the aforementioned literacy domains, participants will engage in hands-on activities to increase their knowledge base. Participants should bring a copy of the core curriculum and/or literacy books used to teach literacy to students. Clock hours available: $11 for 5.5 hours. Intro to LEGO EV3 Robotics at the Elementary Level

Through generous support of Washington FIRST Robotics, this class is offered at a fantastic price! They will provide the facility, computers, robot kits, and licenses for the class! This class will be a basic introduction to using the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Robotics Kits at the elementary (3-6) level and assumes no prior experience. Audience: Teachers grades 3-6. Issues of Abuse: What the Educational Professional Needs to Know
