Enrollment Data in CEDARS—Verify Accuracy

In the 2015–16 CEDARS Manual there are new LAP program codes, posted February 2015. Changes show up in red type.

  • English Language Arts (37). Reading and Language Arts merged to create English Language Arts (ELA). Retroactively exit students from Reading and Language Arts. Recode these students as English Language Arts—if they received services for reading, writing, or communication.
  • K–2 Academic Readiness (7). Corresponds to the previous Readiness program code, but renamed to clarify allowable grade levels.
  • Behavior (38). Code students as Behavior who received behavioral interventions with LAP funds. Report the academic growth of students—coded as Behavior—with entrance and exit performance data in math or ELA.
  • Readiness to Learn (RTL; 39). Use this code—if your district requested RTL funds through iGrants Form Package 218, page 2.
  • Graduation Assistance (11). Grade 8 transition services for successful entry into high school, and grades 11 and 12 services to help students meet graduation requirements.
  • Math (6). K–12 students who need math support.

Export Enrollment Data to Excel

Read and follow the CEDARS User Guide to identify students currently enrolled in LAP—before you work with the Student List in the LAP application in EDS.

Find out how to build a report that converts to Excel. Excel worksheets are easy to share with LAP teachers. Notify your CEDARS administrator if you find errors in the enrollment data.

Communication = Accurate, Fast Reporting

Communicate regularly with school staff and district administrators. Ongoing contact is the best way to enroll and exit students accurately and quickly.

How to Build Your LAP Data Report—Quickly and Accurately

  1. Use the LAP Data Gathering Workbook to identify the required data elements. Begin to collect the required school- and district-level data as preparation for the opening of the school and district tabs.
  2. Determine who will gather and report LAP data—professional development, family involvement, Readiness to Learn and fund distribution.
  3. Contact your District Data Security Manager to get access to the LAP application in EDS. Watch Accessing the Application.
  4. Each user should get familiar with the layout and functionality of the reporting tool.
