 Farwell and New Adventures
Please find what Betty Klattenhoff sent out the end of August to CTE Directors:
As most of you know, I will be leaving my position as State
CTE Director at OSPI the end of August. As I reflect back on my 48 years
in Career and Technical Education as an instructor and director at the local
and state level, I am most proud of the work that has been accomplished in the
past eight years, with your guidance and support to retool secondary Career and
Technical Education to align with state and nationally recognized industry
standards and adding increased rigor of academic content within our programs.
While much has been accomplished through CASE, Core +,
industry partnerships, middle school STEM, IT Academy, AP/CTE, state agency
partnerships, statewide CTE strategic plan, CTE Skills Certification program,
statewide CTE academic equivalencies, etc. there is an urgency to continue and
expand this work so that all students attain competence in both basic academic
and occupationally specific skills.
My new contact information will be klattenb@yahoo.com and 360-496-1477. I appreciate the opportunities that I have been given to work with all of you
and look forward to new adventures and challenges!
Many thanks!
Betty
