New Leadership
Please join us in congratulating Ken Emmil in his appointment as the new Assistant Superintendent for the Career and College Readiness office! His first day as Assistant Superintendent was June 16, 2015.
Ken steps into this role with extensive leadership experience as a Superintendent of Schools with the Colville School District. Ken also served as principal for the Colville School District, for thirteen years and prior to that taught in both Colville and Snohomish schools.
Ken was hired into OSPI as the Special Assistant for the Foster Care Program in August of 2012. He holds degrees from both Washington State University and Gonzaga University.
Congratulations to Ken! We look forward to your continued leadership!!

Students in
approved Skill Center programs generate per student FTE MOSC allocations of
$1,272.99 for the 2015-16 school year and $1,294.63 for the 2016-17 school year.
Students in

allocation of $1,431.65 for the 2015-16 school year and $1,455.99 for the

New Employee
Please welcome Monica Trabue, new Secretary Senior, to the Career and Technical Education Department. She comes to us from the customer service industry for the last seven years, managing for four. She is working towards her bachelor's degree in psychology, and one day hopes to work with children with behavioral disorders. She comes from a long line of educators, and is excited to be working for the institution that has supported those she loves for generations.

Learning, An Employer’s Guide” published by Change the equation (CTEq) was recently shared by Marcie Maxwell, Senior Policy Avisor, Office of Governor Jay Insle for K-12 Education, Early Learning, Higher Education, Workforce Development. The guide is aimed at helping employers understand work-based learning and how to make the various activities—career fairs classroom visits, business/industry tours, mock interviews, informational interviews, job shadows, etc.—successful for businesses and students alike.
Check out the Work-Based Learning guide that is well written and your instructors may find it useful when working with advisory committees, employers, and organizations planning and providing work-based learning activities.
