Rulemaking Notice
Opioid Prescribing--General Provisions for
MDs and PAs
The WMC is considering amending the following opioid prescribing rules to modernize the language, add clarity, and bring the rules more in line with current practice: MD WACs 246-919-850 through 246-919-985 and PA WACs 246-918-800 through 246-918-935.
The Preproposal Statement of Inquiry, or CR-101, was filed on April 30, 2025, as WSR #25-10-039. For more details about this rulemaking, please refer to the CR-101 document linked below.
The WMC will hold workshops for this rulemaking in the coming months. Notices for each will be distributed through this list and posted to our Rules in Progress page.
