Out-of-State Doctor Surrenders WA License

OLYMPIA, WA - In May 2020, the Washington Medical Commission (WMC) accepted the permanent license surrender of Burton Silverman, MD (MD00032130). Silverman is no longer allowed practice medicine in Washington state.

Dr. Silverman most recently practiced in Beaverton, Oregon. The WMC's action is based actions taken by the Oregon Medical Board. Silverman retired his license in Oregon while under investigation for alleged inappropriate opioid prescribing involving several patients. He is not eligible to renew or reactivate his license, nor can he practice as a retired active physician.
