Lynnwood Police Department Citizens Patrol Recruitment Starts Now!
LYNNWOOD, WA
(December 1, 2014) – The
Lynnwood Police Department is now recruiting for membership to the Citizens
Patrol volunteer group. This very active group engages civic minded citizens
with the opportunity to serve and support their community by working alongside
their police department employees.
Working in
teams of two, Citizens Patrol members support the work of officers by directing
traffic, opening locked vehicle doors, patrolling businesses and neighborhoods,
assisting with vehicle battery jump starts, and much more!
Members are
asked to sign up for two 4-hour evening shifts per month, and attend a monthly
training meeting. Daytime shifts on
weekends are also available.
Prerequisites:
- 18+
year of age
- Attend
the 13-week Citizens Academy starting Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, 7-10pm
- Application
to the Citizens Patrol Training Academy (100 hours of specialized training) which
follows the Citizens Academy.
