Lynnwood Healthy Communities: July News!

Lynnwood Washington
PR Month

July is National Parks and Recreation Month!

Since 1985, America has celebrated July as the nation’s official Park and Recreation Month. Created by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), Park and Recreation Month specifically highlights the essential and powerful role local park and recreation professionals play in building stronger, more vibrant, and more resilient communities all across the country.

Our Lynnwood Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts team is proud to offer 400 acres of public parkland and recreation facilities distributed among 21 park sites and numerous open spaces. In addition, the City provides athletic fields, a skate park and over 7 miles of trails. As we head inside, the Lynnwood Recreation Center welcomes nearly 40,000 visits each month. Lynnwood provides a robust Senior Center for adults 62+ with a variety of programs and activities.

Join us as we celebrate #WhereYouBelong during Park and Recreation Month! Swing by our one of our summer park events to help us celebrate Park and Recreation Month and create a new park memory!  And be sure to follow along on the City’s social media to celebrate Parks and Recreation Month all month long!
