Suspicious Fire being Investigated as Arson
At approximately 0018hrs, callers reported to 911 that a vehicle in the carport was on fire at the Trinity Place apartments located at 19321 46th Av. W.. Police and Fire responded immediately to find the 3-story occupied building fully on fire. Occupants had already started evacuating and officers checked to make sure every unit was empty.
South Snohomish County Fire District battled the blaze and ultimately extinguished it. The fire destroyed at least four apartment units. Thankfully, there were no injuries to occupants or first responders.
Lynnwood investigators responded to the scene and in conjunction with the Fire Marshal investigated the cause of the fire. Through interviews and video surveillance, it was determined that the cause of the fire was most likely arson. The investigation is ongoing.
