Lynnwood Police 2019 Citizens Academy Graduates
LYNNWOOD, WA (April 15, 2019) - The Lynnwood Police Department just finished its 28th Citizens Academy with more than 45 graduates. The annual 14-week, free course familiarizes community members with common police procedures, activities and investigative techniques. Although this course will not make police officers out of the public, those who attend learn a great deal about all phases of law enforcement.
Deputy Chief Jim Nelson, Sergeant Cole Langdon, Crime Prevention Specialists; Nic Li and Lisa Wellington, stand alongside the 2019 Lynnwood Police Citizens Academy graduates as they pose recently for a photo in the Lynnwood Senior Center.
A total of eight of these participants have continued on through the interview process to become volunteers of the LPD Citizens Patrol, VIPS (Volunteers in Public Safety), and Car Seat Technicians.
