FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Pharmacy Robbery Suspect Arrested
LYNNWOOD, WA (March 21, 2018) - A robbery suspect was arrested by police this afternoon as he exited from Walgreens (located at 20725 Highway 99).
Police were already investigating an earlier robbery reported at 12:00 PM from a Rite Aid store located three miles away (18600 33rd Ave W). Police were actively searching for the Rite Aid suspect when an in-progress robbery call from Walgreens was dispatched at about 12:15 PM. The suspect described in the in-progress Walgreens robbery matched the description of the earlier Rite Aid robbery and police from surrounding areas were able to envelop the business before the suspect had a chance to exit the store. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. A vehicle believed to have been used by the suspect was located near the Walgreens. In both robberies, the suspect was attempting to obtain narcotics and implied he had a weapon; fortunately no one was injured.
Detectives are still investigating to see if the suspect may have been involved in other pharmacy robberies in the area. The suspect is a male in his twenties.
