On September 18th, the City of
Lynnwood welcomed the official opening of the Workforce Re-Employment Center at
WorkSource; an effort that aligns with the City’s vision to be a regional model
for a sustainable, vibrant community by providing services that meet the needs
of our citizens and businesses.
The Center will provide services to
individuals specifically impacted by the downsizing of the aerospace industry,
including employees, contractors, supply chain workers and displaced
homemakers. The focus of the Center is to help bridge the
gap between those affected by layoffs and the available resources.
Workforce Snohomish received $2 million
in funding to open the Center from a Department of Labor National Dislocated
Worker Grant and a State Employment Security Department Rapid Response
grant. These funds along with existing Workforce Innovation and
Opportunity Act (WIOA) funds will help assist individuals transition into
another employment opportunity in the community.
The new facility is located at
18009 Hwy 99, Suite A, Lynnwood, WA 98037. For more information, visit http://www.snocowrc.com.
Lynnwood congratulates WorkSource
on this innovative approach to help those in need.
