LYNNWOOD, WA (September 21, 2016) - A woman and her daughter safely escaped an early morning fire in their Lynnwood apartment after being awakened by a smoke alarm.

The fire broke out around 3:20 a.m. at the Islandia Apartments in the 5600 block of 200th St. SW. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and kept the flames contained to the kitchen of the second-floor unit where the woman and her daughter lived. The woman sustained minor injuries.
