Dear friends and neighbors,

The 2018 session is over and we’re back home in the most beautiful corner of our state!  It’s been great to see so many of you at the grocery store, school athletic events and other civic functions.  Seeing you face-to-face and hearing your stories – your struggles and your triumphs – continues to fuel my desire to serve and fight for you in the state Legislature.

Because this is an election year, this will be the last email update I can send to you until after the election in November.  However, I am still available to answer your questions or assist you in dealing with a state agency or listen to your concerns about important issues.  Please always feel free to contact my office as we are here to help you.

Also, our 2018 7th District session review newsletter should be hitting mailboxes shortly, but if you’d like to read it online, click here.

While the committee hearings and stakeholder meetings of session are over, there is still much work to be done.  I was pleased to be named to the Joint Legislative Task Force on Water Mitigation.  This task force was created by the bipartisan Hirst legislation (SB 6091) and will review the treatment of surface water and groundwater appropriations as they relate to instream flows and fish habitat.  I was also appointed to the Ecosystem Coordination Board.  I’m excited to bring our values and experiences to both of these endeavors.

I want you to know that I am available to come speak to your civic organization, church group or community association.  Keeping you informed about your state government is part of my job and something I’m happy to do.  It’s important that legislators stay connected to the people we represent and serve.

Thank you for the honor of serving you in the state Legislature.

Sincerely,

Jacquelin Maycumber
