Dear Friends and Neighbors,
Transportation is again in the news. Last week the state Senate passed a $15 billion
transportation revenue package. It includes an 11.7 cent per-gallon gas tax increase and various vehicle fee increases. I'd like to get your opinion, which is why I'm asking you to please take a brief, four-question transportation survey. Click here to access it. Thank you for your time!
The state House just passed a bill to boost computer science education in our schools. Rep. Drew Hansen (D-Bainbridge Island) and I have been working together on this issue for some time. It's important because we have lots of available good-paying computer science jobs, but not nearly enough qualified workers to fill them. This bill is a good first step. Click here for more information.
Finally, please join my seatmate, Rep. Jay Rodne, and I for a town hall meeting on
Saturday, March 14. We'll be at the Maple Valley Community Center from 10-11 a.m., the Issaquah Fire Department Station 71 from 1-2 p.m., and the Mt. Si Senior Center in North Bend from 3-4 p.m. Click here for more details.
Sincerely,
Chad Magendanz
