Dear neighbors and friends,

Next Wednesday, we come together to celebrate the Year of the Snake for Lunar New Year, a cherished tradition in our diverse Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities. The snake symbolizes wisdom, calmness, and transformation. This year, let us embrace these qualities and take January 29th as an opportunity to learn more about the invaluable contributions of AANHPI communities while participating in local celebrations.

Last year, I introduced House Bill 2209, which the Governor enacted, making Lunar New Year a legislatively recognized holiday. To honor the first Lunar New Year since its passage, Senator Hasegawa and I are excited to invite you to a celebration at our state capitol on February 4th.

I hope you can join us for this special event! All the details are below, and I look forward to seeing you there.

When: 5:30-7 PM, Thursday, February 4th.

Where: Senate Rules Room, 220 Legislative Building, 426 Sid Snyder Ave., SW, Olympia, WA 98504.

RSVP: Click here to RSVP and request accommodations by January 30th.

Sincerely,

Rep. My-Linh Thai
