JLARC Meeting Highlights

The Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee met on September 20, 2023. Here's what you should know:

 

JLARC staff briefed the Committee on the upcoming study of the state’s Paid Family and Medical Leave Program

  • Study is on track to be completed in fall 2024.
  • Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) program offers paid time off to public and private employees.
  • JLARC staff are evaluating program operations, including processes, staffing, and equity.
  • JLARC staff are working with two consultants. One will help review whether the account can meet the program's financial obligations. The other will help review the program accounting.

JLARC staff presented the study questions for 6 studies now underway

Study questions define the scope of the audits that staff will deliver in the future.

2024 JLARC meetings planned for January, April, July, September, November, and December

JLARC reviewed the 2024 meeting schedule. The schedule includes:

  • Six regular meetings at which it will hear reports completed by JLARC staff.
  • Meetings to hear reports issued by the State Auditor’s Office under Initiative 900.
