Re:     LCB expands online Portal – Licensing and other service access will change

LCB expands its online Portal on Mar. 31, 2025

It’s a “go” for Mar. 31 changes

Last week we tested the processes for switching over to the expanded Portal during a “dry run” of the system. We also finished all of our other system testing and we are ready to begin the transition to the system this Thurs. 27.

What to expect Mar. 27 – 31

Licensing Customer Service: On Fri. Mar. 28, our Licensing customer service team will not have access to records and will not be able to answer calls. You can leave a message, and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.

Special Occasion Licenses: Mar. 17-30, we will not be able to accept new applications. On Mar. 31, these licenses will be applied for on the Portal.

Banquet Permits: Mar. 27, 5 p.m. - Mar. 31, 8 a.m. the online application for these permits will not be available as we activate the new system.

Public Records Requests: Mar. 27, 5 p.m. - Mar. 31, 8 a.m. the online request form will be offline.

Authorized Representatives: Licensees with an Authorized Representative should notify them about these changes as they too will be impacted and will need to register a Portal account – details will be on LCB’s website.

Packaging and Labeling:  From Mar. 27 - 30 we will not accept new requests. All liquor and cannabis-infused edible packaging and labeling submissions will happen through the Portal beginning Mar. 31.

What you will need to do on and after Mar. 31

  1. The first time you use the Portal you will need to set up an LCB Portal account.
  2. You will also need to have a Secure Access Washington (SAW)  Many businesses and licensees already have a SAW account. You’ll need your SAW User Name and Email Address as you set up a Portal account.
  3. We will have instructions for anyone who needs help setting up their account on a new webpage that will launch on Mar. 31.

What the changes on Mar. 31 will do for customers

The expanded Portal and its behind-the-scenes work environment replaces several outdated siloed systems with a single modern platform built using Salesforce.

Many services that currently require phone calls, emails, and mailings will be accessible online. The result will be increased efficiency, ease-of-use, and transparency for customers and staff.

Our goal is to serve you better, with greater efficiency and access to our services. We appreciate your patience as we move toward this goal.
