LCB Action: Cannabis Rulemaking Updates

 

On Dec. 18, 2024, during its regularly scheduled meeting the Liquor and Cannabis Board (LCB) took the following actions:

 

Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOP): Withdrawal of Preproposal Statement of Inquiry (CR-101)

 

The Board approved withdrawing a previously filed Preproposal Statement of Inquiry (CR-101) that considered amending WAC 314-55-035 and amending, repealing, or creating other sections of Title 314 WAC as needed to specifically allow Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOP) in connection with a cannabis license in a way that is consistent with other Washington laws and regulations.

 

E2SSB 5080 Final Rules (CR-103P) on Social Equity in Cannabis: Final rules filed

 

The Board approved final rule amendments to the Social Equity in Cannabis Program rule (WAC 314-55-570) to implement Engrossed Second Substitute Senate Bill (E2SSB) 5080 (chapter 220, Laws of 2023), in law as RCW 69.50.335. This law expands and improves the Social Equity in Cannabis Program The amendments take effect Jan. 18, 2025.
