New Expedited Process for Converting Cannabis-Infused Edibles to DOH-Compliant Products

The LCB is excited to announce a new streamlined process for converting approved adult-use cannabis-infused edible products to DOH-compliant products.

The process for converting these previously approved cannabis-infused edibles to DOH-compliant products requires licensees to send a conversion request to LCB.

Conversion requests must be sent to labelapprovalMED@lcb.wa.gov and include the following documentation:

  • An image of product label(s) prominently displaying:
    • The Department of Health (DOH) applicable logo for General Use, High CBD, or High THC.
    • The statement: “This product is not approved by the FDA to treat, cure, or prevent any disease.”
    • Images must be of sufficient clarity and resolution to enlarge and illustrate the requirements for review purposes.

All submissions will be reviewed within five business days in the order received. If the product, packaging, and labeling meet requirements in 314-55 WAC and 246-70 WAC, LCB will send an approval email.

If the product does not qualify for any of the following reasons (the product, packaging or labeling are not compliant), LCB will send an email outlining which items are non-compliant, and the submission request will be withdrawn. The licensee may resubmit a request for compliant products, packaging, and labeling at any time.

More information is available on the Cannabis Packaging and Labeling Resources webpage. If you have any questions regarding this announcement, please contact labelapprovalMED@lcb.wa.gov
