Cannabis: Permanent Rules Concerning Evaluation of THC Compounds

On January 5, during a regularly scheduled meeting, the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WSLCB) took the following action:

Approved permanent rules filing:

Approved permanent rules (CR 103) allowing the Board to evaluate additives, solvents, ingredients or compounds used in the production of cannabis (marijuana) products and prohibiting the use of substances determined to pose a risk to public health or youth access.

The framework provides that such prohibition may occur by emergency or permanent rule, providing an additional layer of oversight for substances that may pose a risk to public health or youth access.

The rules are effective February 5, 2022.
