Board Action: New Rule projects for COVID-19 alcohol allowances implementation, THC compounds other than Delta-9; adoption of final rules for SB 5549 distilleries
Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board Action
Today, during a regularly scheduled meeting, the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board took the following action:
Approved a preproposal statement of inquiry (CR 101) to consider new rulemaking to implement 2021 legislation Engrossed Second Substitute House Bill (E2SHB) 1480, which allows specifically listed privileges for certain liquor licenses to continue until June 30, 2023, in order to mitigate the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Approved a preproposal statement of inquiry (CR 101) to consider establishing a new rule section that would allow the Board to evaluate additives, solvents, ingredients, or compounds used in the production or processing of marijuana products other than delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol to determine whether such substances pose a risk to public health or youth access.
Adopted final rules (CR 103) to implement 2020 legislation Engrossed Second Substitute Senate Bill (E2SSB) 5549, related to distilleries. The rules take effect June 12, 2021.
