Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board Action:

February 17, 2021 Board Action

Today, during a regularly scheduled meeting, the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board took the following action:

Approved a pre-proposal statement of inquiry (CR 101) regarding distillery monthly reporting and payment rules. The new rule project will consider revising WAC 314-28-070, 314-28-080, and other rules, if necessary, to be consistent with the Court of Appeals decision in Blue Spirits Distilling, LLC v. WSLCB, issued on December 22, 2020.

Approved a pre-proposal statement of inquiry (CR 101) regarding the criminal history of cannabis license applicants under WAC 314-55-040. This new rule project will review current criminal history background check standards and criteria in an effort to remove unnecessary barriers to entry in the legal cannabis market by those disproportionally impacted by cannabis criminalization.

Adopted Permanent Rule (CR-103P) for Marijuana Vapor products related to the implementation of House Bill 2826. The adopted permanent rules will take effect on March 20, 2021.
