Greetings, Stakeholders!

You may be aware that we’ve been working on revising marijuana enforcement rules for the last several months. We’ve collaborated with our industry partners to develop a draft conceptual rule set that reflects not only our continued commitment to public health and safety, but acknowledges what we can do differently and better to support and partner with our licensed community.

In the past few Board meetings and at Board caucus, we’ve discussed a project schedule that envisioned working toward sharing a draft conceptual penalty rule set August 15, and with a listen and learn session tentatively scheduled for August 29.

We’ve taken another look at the draft conceptual penalty rules, and would like to invest more time in assuring that these rules not only align with the spirit of the legislation that guided these changes, but goes the extra mile to support our licensed community. We also want to assure you that we are engaging in a thoughtful, deliberate, and inclusive approach to compliance rulemaking that will result in the least amount of impact to our licensees. Those efforts take time and attention to detail.

While we are not ready to release a draft conceptual penalty rule set at this time, please know that we are working diligently to do so, and we currently anticipate release on or about August 30. We will keep you updated on progress at Board meetings and at caucus.

Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to the rule development process.
