Traceability Software Update Scheduled: Leaf Data Systems to be Down 11 p.m. Saturday, July 13 until 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 16

Dear Licensees, Integrators and Labs:

This message is to remind you about a major Traceability milestone scheduled for early next week. Beginning the evening of July 13, a critical software and database update will be deployed to Leaf Data Systems. Software version 1.37.5 is the most comprehensive release to the Leaf system yet. And, as you know, this release was delayed to ensure proper validation and third party commercial integrator readiness.

Important: To ensure this has the least possible impact on our market, the outage will begin at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 and run potentially until 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday July 16.

As communicated previously, the vendor originally requested that an outage would be limited to Sunday with a re-opening Monday morning on July 15. They have since requested an additional day to run additional security tests including a data script that will relieve labs and licensees from having to enter lab results for product which only previously had an attestation. This means that the system is now scheduled to be down until Tuesday morning, July 16, at 8:00 a.m.  For those using third-party commercial software, please check with your provider on the impact to your operation.

We have worked closely with our vendor to ensure that that the system rollout  is entirely ready before releasing it to commercial integrators and licensees. As of this afternoon, all outstanding deliverables have been provided by the vendor. Software release 1.37.5 will be deployed as planned.

Workflow Improvements
Release 1.37.5 will include a variety of workflow improvements, especially related to waste reporting, inventory type attributes, lab results, inventory transfers, and the ability to adjust previously entered sales data. General improvements will include numeric standardization that will standardize decimal values for weights, and the replacement of drop-down menus with “type-ahead” search fields for batches, inventories and inventory types.

Training
As always, the LCB traceability section of the LCB website is your source for training materials and videos specific to software releases, including the most current user manuals for Leaf Data Systems and system workarounds. The LCB website contains instructions for accessing the Leaf training environment. Please take the time to review and ensure you’re ready for implementation.

Thank you for your continued patience as we implement these major system enhancements.
