Clarification on Packaging and Labeling Requirements Timeline
This announcement is to clarify confusion regarding packaging and labeling changes that went into effect January 1, 2019.
The final compliance date for all changes to packaging and labeling of usable marijuana, marijuana concentrates, or marijuana-infused products is January 1, 2020.
The extended date will allow licensees to "phase-in" packaging and labeling that adheres to the new requirements as they cycle through existing inventory. With this “phase-in” approach, there will be packaging and labeling under both sets of rules in stores through the rest of this year.
