Accepted items
This event is for households only. Limit 15 tires per household. We accept:
- Tires from passenger vehicles, light trucks, bikes, motorcycles, lawn mowers, and wheelbarrows
- Tires with or without rims
Please do not cut and embed tires into one another. If you bring embedded tires, you will need to separate them at the event site.
Not accepted
- No commercial tires
- No tractor tires
- No tires from businesses or organizations
You can take commercial tires up to 22" rims to Olympic View Transfer Station for disposal. Fees apply at the transfer station. You can also hire a licensed tire carrier to manage commercial, tractor, and business tires.
Secure your vehicle load before you go
Help us prevent roadside litter and accidents around Kitsap County by properly securing your vehicle load before heading to the Fairgrounds. It's the law, and the right thing to do! Law enforcement may be present at this event to check incoming vehicle loads.
How to secure your tires
One way to secure your tires is by feeding heavy-duty ratchet straps through the rim or hole of your tires. Then, weave a second ratchet strap around the top of the tires. Make sure your ratchet straps' weight rating is higher than the weight of your tires.
 What happens to collected tires?
We are partnering with the Washington State Department of Ecology, via their waste tire program, and Liberty Tire Recycling for this event. Liberty Tire Recycling either resells or transforms the tires into reusable raw materials like crumb rubber and industrial feedstock. All aspects of the tire get recycled, including the fiber and steel wire!
How is this event funded?
Funding for this event is provided by Ecology’s waste tire program. Thank you to the Kitsap Fair and Stampede Association for donating the venue.
