Being a family caregiver can uniquely impact personal relationships, employment, social and recreation time, and mental and physical health. Honoring family caregivers boosts recognition of the important role in their family and community and helps people identify as family caregivers for connecting with local, free information and individualized support.
The 2024 National Family Caregivers Month theme of, “I Care” is a reminder of the many kinds of effort and sacrifices being made by family (and friend) caregivers to keep family members and friends safe and healthy. Across the country and locally, events are held in November to recognize, raise awareness of issues, and celebrate family members and friends caring for others in all ways and phases of the caregiving journey.
Check out the Kitsap County Aging and Long Term Care website for November caregiver events and learn about free information, programs, and services for older adults and family caregivers.
