Change of value notices sent
Change of Value notices were mailed on June 21st to 23,389 property taxpayers in Kitsap County. If you did not receive a value notice your assessed value has likely not changed. The Assessor is required by state law to appraise property at 100% of the market value (RCW 84.40.030). These notices are determined based upon the values as of January 1, 2024, and will be used to calculate your 2025 property taxes. Click here to view the valuation timeline.
You may review your value and property characteristics using our Parcel Details tool.
Check out our 4-minute video that explains the difference in the real estate market's value and our assessed value for tax purposes.
If you have any questions regarding the new value, do not hesitate to contact our office and speak with an appraiser.
If you disagree with the value, you have until August 26th to file an appeal with the Board of Equalization.

Elections that impact future property taxes - Remember to vote by August 6, 2024
The City of Bremerton, Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Parks, Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue, North Kitsap Fire and Rescue, North Mason Regional Fire Authority and Poulsbo Fire all have ballot measures on the August 6, 2024, primary election that will impact future taxes.
The City of Bremerton, North Kitsap Fire and Rescue and Poulsbo Fire are asking their voters to approve ballot measures for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) property tax levies. If approved, the rate for each levy would be $0.50 per $1,000 of assessed value. Each of these districts currently have EMS levies in place that are valid through 2025. If approved, the new levies would replace the final year of the current levies and would be valid for collection through 2030.
Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue (CKFR) and North Mason Regional Fire Authority (NMRFA) are asking for a lid lift to their current regular property tax levies. CKFR is asking voters to approve a rate of $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed value in 2025 and be able to increase the levy up to 6% each year for 2026 through 2030. NMRFA is asking voters to approve a rate of $1.11 per $1,000 of assessed value for collection in 2025.
Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Parks is asking their voters to approve a $10,000,000 bond for improvements and renovations at the aquatic center.
For additional information you may review the district resolutions and view a sample ballot.
