Trick-or-treating and pumpkin spice lattes aren’t the only things to get excited for this month – October is National Community Planning Month, celebrating the importance of professional community planners, planning commissions, and passionate county residents that take part in the planning process. In alignment with this national recognition of planners, the Board of County Commissioners recently passed a resolution to establish October 2023 as Kitsap County Community Planning Month, highlighting the important work currently underway to update the County’s Comprehensive Plan and Critical Areas Ordinances.
Take a moment this month to think about how community planning affects you, and what you’d like to see incorporated in the ongoing update projects. To learn more about these projects and opportunities to participate, please visit our project pages at kcowa.us/cao (Critical Areas Ordinance Update) and kcowa.us/compplan (Comprehensive Plan Update).
