Olympic View Transfer Station Temporarily Closed to Self-unloading Customers
Olympic View Transfer Station is operating on limited capacity until further notice due to a broken garbage compactor. The Transfer Station is only accepting customers with mechanized dump trucks and dump trailers at this time. All other customers will be turned away. No bulk loads of soil, ditch spoils or decant facility waste is being accepted at this time.
Customers who need to unload their garbage by hand must visit a Recycling and Garbage Facility (Silverdale, Olalla or Hansville) during this time. If you can postpone your dump trip, please do so. These facilities may reach capacity through this emerging situation. We are trying to accommodate as many residents as possible.
Mason County residents may visit the nearby garbage disposal facility in Belfair. Pierce County residents may visit the nearby Purdy Transfer Station.
The partial closure is expected to last through Friday or longer, depending on repairs. As the situation evolves, visit our facility website for the most updated information.

Recycling and Garbage Facilities are expected to have higher than normal traffic as they assist customers from Olympic View Transfer Station. During the partial closure at our transfer station, expect longer than normal wait times. This may last throughout the weekend at all of our facilities.
