Drive-though testing - the convenience of staying in your car.
While the demand at our drive-through COVID-19 testing sites dropped down from record levels a short time ago, the dedicated staff and team of volunteers continue to provide this valuable service. The lighter demand means that it is easier and faster to use this testing resource, and the test results are typically provided in 2-3 days.
Pre-registration is required with testing is now available Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. See the schedule below and visit kcowa.us/covidtesting for full details. Additionally, a full list of Kitsap County testing providers is regularly updated by Kitsap Public Health District.
The testing sites operated by Kitsap Public Health and the Kitsap County EOC are intended to serve people who are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19. Please use a different testing site if you need a screening test for work, travel, or other activities.

The value of vaccine booster shots
The COVID-19 vaccines make a difference. Data provides evidence that people who get vaccinated and receive a booster shot have extremely high levels of protection against severe illness, hospitalization, and death.
As Kitsap Public Health Officer Gib Morrow notes, “If you have been vaccinated for COVID-19, please follow up with a booster shot as soon as you can. Studies show people who are vaccinated and boosted are far less likely to become hospitalized or die from COVID than those who are unvaccinated. Getting boosted is a simple step to avoid a potentially life-threatening illness.”

Some state masking requirements will end March 21
Governor Inslee announced this afternoon that some state masking requirements will end on March 21, citing declining COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations. Until then, masks will still be required in indoor public spaces, including schools. Details can be found here.
Individual businesses and school districts can still choose to require masks after the state requirement ends.
While cases are declining, COVID-19 activity remains very high in our county. Kitsap Public Health District encourages Kitsap residents to continue masking to protect their health and reduce the spread of COVID-19.
Funeral expense assistance from FEMA
Tragically, Kitsap County has surpassed over 300 deaths from COVID-19 over the past two years. Our condolences go out to those who have lost family members, friends and co-workers.
A program providing assistance for funeral expenses for those who have died from COVID-19 on or after January 20, 2020 was established by FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) to help ease some of the financial stress and burden caused by the virus.
Information is available from the COVID-19 Funeral Assistance Hotline: 844-684-6333. The dedicated toll-free phone is available Monday - Friday from 6 a.m.- 6 p.m. Pacific Time with FEMA representatives. Multilingual services are available.
