Give your pumpkins a new life by composting them! Bring your dreary, old pumpkins to Kola Kole Park on Saturday, November 6, 2021 from 9 am to 1 pm.
While you're here, enter for a chance to win free compost from Olympic Organics. Visitors who express interest in signing up for curbside compost services can enter a drawing to win compost from Olympic Organics. One winner gets five yards of organic compost for pickup or delivery within five miles of Olympic Organics.
Kids and grownups can watch zombie worms devour the brains of a dead jack-o’-lantern as they compost. Wear your Halloween costumes for an extra chance to trick or treat and have a hot cup of cider.
This event is brought to you by Kitsap County Solid Waste in partnership with Olympic Organics. All pumpkins brought to the event will be recycled into compost at Olympic Organics. Special thanks to Olympic Organics for donating the compost.
- No paint or permanent marker. Cut off the affected area. We'll compost the rest.
- Pumpkins must be free of candles, plastics or decorations.
Tip: If your pumpkin is gross and slimy, use a shovel to scoop it into a bucket to transport to the event.
