Review proposed Port Gamble Forest Heritage Park plans at virtual community meeting Sept. 29
The third in a series of community meetings to create a master plan for Kitsap County's Port Gamble Forest Heritage Park takes place virtually 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 29. The public will have the opportunity to review alternatives for park and trail plans developed from previous input, including recreational and educational components. An inaugural public open house March 16 kicked off the master plan process and provided an introduction and overview of the vision and goals for the nearly 3,500-acre park. Another virtual public meeting June 4 focused on ecological restoration of the parkland. A meeting June 22 included polls to determine preferences for different uses within the park.
The vision for the Port Gamble Forest Heritage Park is focused on the quality of its diverse environment, wildlife, user experience and recreational opportunities.
