Lend a hand to clean up Kitsap
Volunteers are needed to help with a large-scale recycling event coming up Friday, Oct. 8 and Saturday, Oct. 9 at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds. Kitsap County Public Works' Solid Waste Division is holding a Wheels & Steel waste collection event where Kitsap County residents can drop off vehicle tires and scrap metal that will be recycled, keeping these materials out of landfills.
Volunteers are needed both days to greet people, direct traffic and assist with setting up and taking down equipment. Shifts are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. This is a great opportunity for a business or organization that wants to do some community volunteering but individuals are welcome, too!
COVID-19 precautions and other safety measures will be followed. Lunch and refreshments are provided.
To register, please complete the online volunteer form here. Questions? Contact program coordinator Christina Duggar at cduggar@co.kitsap.wa.us or 360-337-4578.
