Kitsap County is accepting comments on the Draft 2013-2019 Buildable Lands Report.

Comments will be accepted until September 21, 2021. They will help the County and local cities complete the final report.

The draft Buildable Lands Report looks at the City of Bainbridge Island, City of Bremerton, City of Poulsbo, City of Port Orchard, and unincorporated areas of Kitsap County, to review if they are growing as planned.

In addition to reviewing growth trends, the report also evaluates urban areas to determine if there is sufficient land remaining to accommodate growth targets in local policies and plans. The report offers government agencies across Kitsap County an opportunity to collect and evaluate data using a common framework.

The Buildable Lands Report serves as an important first milestone as Kitsap County and local cities work to update their Comprehensive Plan by June 2024.

When the public comment period opens on August 20, 2021, you will be able to submit your comments directly to the County using the following methods:

• Online: Submit your comments using the online form.

Comments will be accepted until September 21, 2021. Your feedback will be compiled and help the County and local cities complete the final Buildable Lands Report.

Next steps
After the comment period, the County will respond and incorporate changes, as necessary, in the final Buildable Lands Report. Public comments and County responses will be shared with local cities, the Department of Commerce, Kitsap County Planning Commission, and the Board of County Commissioners.
