COVID-19 daily cases

COVID-19 cases on the rise in Kitsap County

As we enjoy more sunny days and more opportunities to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, it is important to stay focused on the path of recovery. COVID-19 cases are rising in Kitsap, with many recent cases connected to family celebrations and community events.

We made good progress slowing the spread in the weeks leading up to March. At one point the number of cases per 100,000 residents/14 days dipped below 60. Now we are headed in the other direction. We are over 100 cases per 100,000 and cases continue to climb. Plus, hospitalizations have increased. Deaths continue to rise with 49 lives lost in 2021 alone.

Kitsap County is currently in Phase 3 of the Healthy Washington - Roadmap to Recovery plan. Cases per 100,000 and number of hospitalizations are metrics tracked by the state that determine our reopening phase.

Counties will be individually evaluated every three weeks, with the first evaluation scheduled for April 12. Let's get that trend moving in the right direction. Continue to practice the 3 W's: Wear your mask, Watch your distance, and Wash your hands. And schedule an appointment to be vaccinated as soon as you are eligible.
