Now Is The Time To Submit Your Comments and Questions
Thank you to everyone who reviewed the proposed amendments to Kitsap County's Shoreline Master Program (SMP) or participated in one of our engagement opportunities since early February. Please use the information below to share your comments and questions with the County before the SMP comment period closes next week.Submit Public Comment
Kitsap County and the Washington Department of Ecology are accepting public comments on the draft SMP amendments under RCW 90.58.080(4). The proposed draft amendments keep the SMP current with changes in state laws and rules, changes in other County plans and regulations, and provide clarifications to improve the usability and functionality of the SMP. The public comment period will close next Wednesday, March 3, at 5 p.m.How to Submit Comments

SEPA Review
The State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) review process is a Washington State requirement to ensure state and local governments consider the environmental impacts of proposals before taking action. A SEPA Environmental Checklist is used to determine whether the environmental impacts of proposed amendments are significant. A Determination of Nonsignificance for proposed code amendments related to Kitsap County’s Shoreline Master Program periodic review has been issued under WAC 197-11-340(2). The lead agency will not act on this proposal for 14 days. The SEPA Review comment period will close next Thursday, March 4, at 5 p.m.
