COVID-19 testing available six days a week

Did you know that Kitsap County has community-based COVID-19 testing options available six days a week? In addition to the test sites coordinated by the Kitsap County Emergency Operations Center, the City of Bainbridge Island will continue to provide testing on Mondays and Wednesday for anyone who needs a test. 

Testing is available for anyone who:

Kitsap County Community COVID-19 test site locations include: 

  • Monday: City of Bainbridge Island (Bainbridge) and Kitsap County Fairgrounds (East Bremerton)
  • Tuesday: Kitsap Conference Center (Downtown Bremerton) 
  • Wednesday: City of Bainbridge Island (Bainbridge) 
  • Thursday: Kitsap County Fairgrounds (East Bremerton) 
  • Friday: Poulsbo City Hall (Poulsbo)
  • Saturday: Kitsap County Fairgrounds (East Bremerton)

View a complete list of the Kitsap County test sites, registration links, times and addresses at kcowa.us/covidtesting. Advanced registration and an appointment are required for all test sites.

In addition, Kitsap Public Health has a list of medical clinics and pharmacies in Kitsap County offering COVID-19 testing. If you do not see your provider on the list and are unsure if they offer testing, please contact them directly.

"Roadmap to Recovery" dashboard now live; All regions to remain in Phase 1 for now

Today, the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) announced that based on Governor Jay Inslee’s Roadmap to Recovery phased reopening plan, all eight regions in Washington will remain in Phase 1 until at least Monday, February 1, 2021.

DOH, in partnership with Microsoft AI for Health, launched the new Roadmap to Recovery dashboard that provides a detailed overview of the metrics used for measuring regional progress. DOH will reassess the metrics for all regions each week and announce any changes to current phase status every Friday.

The new Roadmap to Recovery dashboard will replace the original dashboard on coronavirus.wa.gov, but both are still publicly visible.

 

Economic Forecast 2021: Hope, rebuilding, and transition

The Kitsap Economic Development Alliance Economic Forecast 2021 event will be held virtually from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Feb. 18.

Speakers will include Hart Hodges and James McCafferty, co-directors of Western Washington University Center for Economic & Business Research to provide perspective and insights for the year ahead. Nationally recognized expert, John Karras, vice president of business development at TIP Strategies will deliver the keynote address, “Remote Work: Rethinking Talent Attraction.”

Other highlights include a panel discussing “Education, Career, Stress & Balance: COVID’s Impact on Working Women” and an update on public health and expectations.
