Spread Joy, Not COVID: Plan ahead for the holidays

As COVID-19 continues to spread in Kitsap County and across the state, gatherings and other activities remain restricted. We need to continue to plan ahead and find new ways to connect over the holidays so we can slow the spread of COVID-19 and keep our families healthy. 

The Washington State Department of Health offers a safe gatherings website with tips on celebrating safely here. The CDC also offers tips for safer holiday gatherings here.

Making sense of vaccines during COVID-19: Answers to most-asked questions during virtual panel Dec. 15

How do vaccines work? How are they made? What do you need to know now? Register to watch a free virtual panel and get the answers from leading doctors and experts in Washington. The event takes place 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15. To register, click here

With highly anticipated COVID-19 vaccines on their way, in this live conversation, researchers from Fred Hutch will talk about their participation in Phase 3 COVID-19 vaccine trials, while leading physicians will answer the “most-asked” vaccine questions they hear every day.

This event is convened by Washington State Department of Health, in partnership with Fred Hutch and participating panelists.

New vaccine information website offered  

The Kitsap Public Health District created a new COVID-19 vaccine information website to provide updates on vaccination plans, resources for local health care providers and community partners, and to offer other important information from the Washington State Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to ensure the public is prepared when a COVID-19 vaccine is available.



Latest episode of Coping with COVID podcast offers suggestions for developing resiliency

A new episode of the Coping with COVID podcast dives into the ingredients of resiliency to get you through the months ahead. Information about mental health and self-care is being made more readily available as we collectively cope with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. Buzzwords keep showing up to describe what people are going through right now: “burnout,” “compassion fatigue,” and “resilience.” Understanding these experiences can help us care for ourselves in the months ahead.
