Kitsap Public Health Board meeting update
Kitsap Public Health District Health Officer Dr. Gib Morrow provided an update on the local COVID-19 response to the Kitsap Public Health Board today during the board’s regular December meeting.
The board also approved the Health District’s 2021 budget, which includes ongoing funding for COVID-19 response. A recording of the full meeting is available on the Health District’s website. Dr. Morrow’s COVID-19 update begins at 00:58:30.
Kitsap Public Health District and Kitsap County Emergency Operations Center, in partnership with various community organizations, offer drive-through community COVID-19 testing sites. These sites provide additional low-barrier testing options. Results are typically available within 3 to 4 days (72-96 hours) of your test. Results may take longer due to high testing volumes at the lab or other unforeseen circumstances.
Testing is available regardless of health insurance status. A medical appointment is not required for testing. Pre-registration is required. Visit kcowa.us/covidtesting for details.
Testing is available for anyone who:
- Has any COVID-19 symptoms
- Has been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19
- Meets other testing criteria recommended by Kitsap Public Health
