Kitsap County, in coordination with local cities, is updating its Buildable Lands Report. The County is one of seven in Washington required by the State’s Growth Management Act to compile a report every 8-years. The purpose and scope of the Buildable Lands Report update is to:
Look back at development trends between 2013 and 2019 to review if they are consistent with Kitsap’s countywide planning policies and local comprehensive plans;
Look forward to evaluating if there is adequate land supply in urban growth areas to support the future growth in population and employment anticipated between 2020 and 2036; and
Identify reasonable measures, if necessary, to address any inconsistencies that may be identified by the review and evaluation.
