New COVID-19 guidance begins at midnight on Monday, on Wednesday for restaurants and bars

Gov. Inslee announced new rules yesterday to slow the spread of COVID-19 across the state and preserve healthcare capacity. These temporary restrictions take effect tonight at midnight, with the exception of restrictions for restaurants, which take effect Wednesday.

The new restrictions apply to all counties in Washington and are in effect through December 14.

As part of the new COVID-19 guidance, indoor social gatherings with people from outside your household are prohibited unless they:

  • Quarantine for 14 days prior to the social gathering; or
  • Quarantine for seven days prior to the social gathering and receive a negative COVID-19 test result no more than 48-hours prior to the gathering.

Outdoor social gatherings are limited to five people from outside your household. A household is defined as individuals residing in the same domicile.

See the governor's guidance document for more information on which activities are affected by the new restrictions.

Kitsap County community COVID-19 testing sites

The Kitsap Public Health District and Kitsap County Emergency Operations Center, in partnership with various community organizations, offer drive-through community COVID-19 testing sites. These sites provide additional low-barrier testing options with short wait times (typically 1-2 days) for receiving test results. (Información en español

Advance registration and an appointment are required. To ensure adequate testing supplies and avoid long wait times, those needing COVID-19 testing at a community test site must register online or by phone to schedule an appointment.

People who want a test should first check with their healthcare provider. Read more about who should be tested from Kitsap Public Health.
