Safe Start report card update

The Kitsap Public Health District has updated the Safe Start report card with data available as of November 3. The report card tracks targets to be met to move to the next phase of the Safe Start recovery plan. Kitsap County is currently in Phase 2. More details are available in the COVID-19 Risk Assessment Dashboard.

Survey asks about using technology to fight COVID-19

The University of Washington School of Public Health is looking for feedback on how technology could be used do fight COVID-19. This anonymous survey closes Nov. 10. 

Washington residents over age 18 are invited to participate. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes. Please direct questions about the survey to WaNotifySurvey@uw.edu

New report explores role of diagnostic testing in schools reopening

Today, the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) released a new report by the Institute for Disease Modeling (IDM) that quantifies how various diagnostic screening scenarios could help mitigate the risk of COVID-19 transmission associated with reopening schools.

The report, the third in a series by IDM, affirms that while there are still risks associated with returning to full in-person instruction, the risks could be significantly reduced through school-based countermeasures, hybrid scheduling, and a phased-in approach that brings back K-5 grades first.
