COVID-19 Testing Results Update for Kitsap County as of 2 p.m. Nov. 3

Health District update:

Kitsap Public Health District officials provided a COVID-19 update to the Kitsap Public Health Board on Tuesday. The presentation included discussion of the sharp increase in COVID-19 cases reported in county and highlighted successes in improving access to testing. 

“We need to work together to bring this virus under control, to reverse the economic, social, and health destruction it has caused, and start healing from this disease,” Kitsap Public Health District Health Officer Dr. Gib Morrow said during the meeting.

COVID-19 drive-thru testing on Bainbridge Island

The City of Bainbridge Island will open a drive-thru COVID-19 testing site tomorrow (Wednesday, November 4) at Town Square. Testing will be offered 1 to 5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. 

Testing is available regardless of health insurance status. Advance registration is required. You must register online for an appointment. The test results are expected in 24 to 48 hours. Arrangements can made made for those without access to a car.

Kitsap Public Health also maintains a list of Kitsap County COVID-19 test providers. Those who need testing should first contact their regular health care provider.

Global Entrepreneurship Month offers free training, support for small businesses

Gov. Jay Inslee this week proclaimed November Global Entrepreneurship Month in Washington, kicking off nearly 50 online webinars and on-demand training sessions throughout November to help people start new businesses and help current business owners pivot, rebuild or safely restart in the age of COVID-19.

Washington’s Global Entrepreneurship Month will cover a wide range of topics designed to address the significant challenges businesses face now and in the years to come. See the news release from the Washington State Department of Commerce for details.

 

Kitsap Digital Hour: create a footprint for your business

The Kitsap Economic Development Alliance offers a new monthly program for local business owners to help them navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. The first Kitsap Digital Hour takes place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5. It will focus on enhancing and creating your digital footprint and feature Rianna Hill of Pancake Solutions, Maureen Jann of NeoLuxe Marketing and Eugenie Jones-Laughridge, communications coordinator for the Kitsap County Department of Community Development.

The program also includes the introduction of KEDA's new executive director Joe Morrison and a district update from Congressman Derek Kilmer.
