Call for proposals and awards nominations for 30th Annual Conference for Human Rights

The Kitsap County Council for Human Rights will host its 30th Annual Conference for Human Rights on Friday, December 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Due to COVID-19 physical distancing precautions, the conference will be online - and still interactive!

This year's theme of Reflection, Renewal, and Radical Joy focuses on providing connective, restorative and nourishing content for all those advocating for human rights.

Submissions are now open for proposals for conference content such as workshops, presentations, panels, discussions, interactive activities, or performances. The submission deadline is October 30.

Conference organizers seek interactive programming reflective of the conference theme of Reflection, Renewal and Radical Joy, and especially proposals that provide opportunities for human rights advocates to connect for mutual support, restoration and nourishment. To read suggestions for content topics or to submit proposals, visit the Kitsap County Council for Human Rights web page:  http://kcowa.us/hrc

The Council for Human Rights is also accepting nominations for the 2020 Linda Gabriel Awards, which will be presented during the conference. The deadline for nominations is November 6. To view a complete list of past award recipients or to submit the online nomination form, please visit http://kcowa.us/hrc

The Linda Gabriel Awards recognize significant contributions to human rights efforts in Kitsap County, in four categories: Youth, Adult, Organization, and Lifetime Achievement. The awards are presented each year during the Conference for Human Rights, in honor of Linda Gabriel, a founder of the Kitsap County Council for Human Rights who died in 2014.
