Staying healthy indoors

As the season changes, cooler temperatures mean more time indoors. The risk from COVID-19 increases with indoor gatherings compared to outdoors, but there are ways to reduce the spread and stay healthy. Read this article from Seattle and King County Public Health to learn more about COVID-19 risks indoors and what to do about it.

A combination of strategies used together will most effectively reduce the risk from COVID-19. These steps include wearing a mask that fits well, staying at least 6 feet away from others, improving ventilation, avoiding crowded places, limiting interactions with others outside the home, and, practicing good hygiene and environmental cleaning.

You can find more information on indoor air and reducing COVID-19 risk at the EPA Indoor Air and Coronavirus website.

Free flu vaccine clinics scheduled throughout November

It's more important than ever to get your flu shot this year. Kitsap Public Health is hosting free flu clinics at several locations in Kitsap County through the month of November. Information is available English and Spanish (en Español).

Clinics are open to adults 19 and older who are uninsured or underinsured (when insurance does not cover flu vaccine). Flu vaccination is free for those 18 years and younger in Washington state. Learn more about protecting yourself from seasonal flu from the Kitsap Public Health District.
