COVID-19 vaccine update

The Washington State Department of Health (DOH) learned that on Friday, October 2, the National Academies will release the final Framework for Equitable Allocation of COVID-19 Vaccine. DOH will use this report to inform planning and thinking for how to prioritize vaccine distribution.

Washington received $5 million in federal funding for COVID-19 vaccine response preparation. This funding will support DOH partnerships with local health jurisdictions, tribal entities, health partners and community organizations. It will support vendor contracts, and staffing to prepare for vaccines to arrive sometime in the next several months. See the DOH news release for more details.
