 Blackjack Creek Cleanup
Join us in cleaning up Blackjack Creek in Port Orchard on Saturday, October 17 from 11 am to 3 pm. We will be removing garbage from an unoccupied encampment. Meet at the far east end of Kendall Street at 11 am. Volunteers must be 18 years or older. Information about the event and the required waivers will be emailed to you upon registration.
Face coverings and social distancing are required. Work parties must be five people or less. The terrain is difficult to navigate and is not suitable for those with major health conditions. Use caution and look for hazards while in the cleanup area.
Some volunteers will need to cross the creek; please wear waterproof boots. Event staff is in touch with wildlife experts about the health and safety of Salmon passing through during our cleanup. We will remain cautious in our efforts.
A huge thank you to the volunteers with Northwest Hospitality for their work in cleaning up over 1,600 pounds of trash from nearby sites along Blackjack Creek in July 2020. With your help, we will finish where they left off.
